In Puerto Rico, in the year 1916, there was a group of young men
who saw in Radiotelegraphy many possibilities, including an entertainment
and information venue for the masses.
Among them stood out Don Joaquín Agusty Ramirez de Arellano who
would become the Pioneer of Radio in Puerto Rico.
"Esta es WKAQ, en San San Juan, capital de Puerto Rico,
la Isla del Encanto y donde se produce el mejor café."
With these opening words, spoken December 3, 1922, Don Joaquin
Agusty launched the island's first radio station.
