Many hours of work have been put into the research and documentation of these ancestors. I hope you will benefit from the information I present here. If you have any information you would like to share, it will always be welcomed.
A note on Spanish surnames: The use of both maternal and paternal surnames is tradition. In older times, the names were united with the word "and". In Castillian Spanish, this takes the shape of the word "y" whereas in Catalonian or Catalan it is an "i". Upon marriage, the female adds on her husband's surname with the addition of the word "of" which is Spanish is "de". She can also drop the maternal surname and take on her spouse's in its place. I have opted to not use these conjoiners in my family tree.
